The Steiner company, with a total of approximately 350 employees, metallizes and slits capacitor films in two locations: one in Germany and the other in USA. Steiner has a comprehensively equipped research and development laboratory in both facilities.
Gauges of film thickness from 0,5µ to 23µ and/or slit widths from 2,25mm to 330mm are processed.
Our coating technology is also applicable for non-capacitor applications.
We follow the philosophy of a one floor flow production in both locations by avoiding a material flow changing direction. A check is made after each and every production step.

Customising: Optimisation of cost and performance
The high flexibility of having self-made production equipment allows Steiner to continuously optimise customer requirements. Approximately 10 new executions are produced every single working day. We develop new capacitor applications or optimise existing ones in a close cooperation with our customers worldwide. Our product generator allows roughly 10¹² different size variants.

Statistics indicate that, if the per capita consumption of China and India reaches the western level, the global electrical energy production will triple. The total amount of renewable energy is expected to double within the next 20 years.
Steinerfilm® is widely used in the fields of wind and solar energy production.
Capacitors made of Steinerfilm® for these applications offer particular advantages in terms of their life time and variety of design.
For the transmission of energy Steinerfilm® is in particular used in converters/inverters of the High Volt DC (HVDC) transmission technology. No offshore wind farm is working without materials made by Steiner.
In home applications Steinerfilm is used in energy saving lamps as well as or for the optimisation of air conditioning and elevators.
Metallized Steinerfilm is especially part of electro-mobility technology such as Full/Mild Hybrids and Plug-In Hybrid Cars.
