Picture 1 + 2:
Here you can see a laboratary test of a standard unsegmented version of a round winding (i.e. unfinished film capacitor) when an over AC voltage has caused it to explode; a so-called worst case scenario.
Picture 3:
Capacitors can be provided with additional backup / disable devices to avoid worst case short circuits. These types of fuses are not needed in windings using segmented films. The capacitor is intrinsically safe and does not explode (see picture 3 with diamond segment).
We have many measuring devices at our disposal and, in conjunction with decades of know-how, we can often detect failure of the product even if they are outside of our production processes.
This is one of our fundamental strengths and is offered to our clients as technical support and very much appreciated by them. We understand this as the difference between simple service and service performance which helps form the Steinerfilm® brand.
