Automotive applications with Steinerfilm

Tipping Point: The future for electric cars is beginning now! Hybrid vehicles are already the important core technology and 48-volt mild hybrids uptake to rise exponentially!

Greater requirements are being placed on power electronics within the car industry. Steinerfilm provides an ever increasing demand for metallized BOPP film for the use as follows:

  • DC link power capacitors for battery electric vehicles (⇒ BEV) and plug-in/hybrid electric vehicle (⇒ PHEV/HEV)                                                                                                                                                         

Steiner purely specialises in producing metallized film for capacitors whilst typical ultra/supercapacitors are manufactured by others. The thickness range for BEV and PHEV/HEV started at 3 micron and is steadily going down to 2.2 micron (only BOPP base film). This wafer-thin film (0.0022 mm) is the most thermally stressed automotive film produced by us.

We have been successfully producing as world-wide thinnest available gauge a 1,6 micron BOPP Film.

Our R & D department has been pushed constantly since the beginning of the new millennium to create an even better product. This now makes Steiner the first contact for customers worldwide who produce a highly sensitive product with the appropriate know-how.
