Steiner's new lab winding machine
The following picture shows one of the latest investments in new equipment for the Steiner laboratory. This is a statement by the company to show the continued commitment to the research and development in dielectric materials for capacitor applications.
The new automatic winding machine is a modification of an established standard capacitor winding machine model: KOEM KS-622. This machine was originally designed for mass production capable of winding, for example, two elements of 2.5µm film up to a width of 30 mm in one cycle.
The Steiner laboratory is focusing on flexibility plus the ability to deal with current film and capacitor designs rather than on mass production. This approach motivated the redesign of the above model and to merge the facilities of two types of machine sizes to one. This customised machine can not only wind a 30 mm width, but in addition can also wind films up to 60mm, on one mandrel.
Pilot samples of 1.2µm PET and 1.9µm OPP – both used in designs of today´s automotive applications - have been successfully wound and demonstrates that the machine is an ideal addition to our laboratory equipment.
We invite all of our valuable customers and suppliers to see our new capacitor winding machine and to receive more detailed information in a tour through our laboratories. Of course we will also put this new investment at the disposal of our customers and suppliers for their investigation to our mutual benefit.
